![]() it looks like how GT4 n enthusia should have been just from previews. Racing battle C1 GP: japan only, from the same creators as the TXR series. It's guaranteed to teach you to react to elevation changes better than any sim, and it's the only ps2 game where i liked the tunable abs less brakes. It's actually got brake fade, awesome weather effects, great tuning, really good physics(with a few bugs), and it's as lengthy as any console sim career mode without the story. it's also got a story mode, and has an arcadish feel, but dont let that fool you. Tokyo Xtreme Racer Drift 2: My personal favorite since it's completely based on real touge locations. ![]() If you want a PS2 sim try these games insteadĮnthusia: way better physics than GT4, but the career mode sucks, and i dont like the lack of tuning. It's not going to support G27 extra functions though, since it didnt even have a clutch button. you can say GT4 is somewhat more realistic because of force feedback support, but there are games on ps2 much better and have it. Note i just use TXR3 as an example of how bad GT4 is. engine heat, much better understeer/oversteer response, better tire wear, etc. Show me someone doing a stand still burn out, donuts, 180 spin turns, even semi realistic drifting, etc on GT4 and i'll admit i'm wrong.Įven Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3, an arcade game, with traffic, and had much better phsyics. I just slam on the brakes all the way through the corner and the car never seems to spin and continues understeering even with oversteery settings. i hate the stupit brakes and snap understeer. they wanted to ban me for "lazy grammar", screw that place. Oh, speaking of GTPlanet, those guys are a bunch of losers. believe me, i would love to play all the "real" sims that all you guys are playing. Well i don't have the money right now to buy or build a gaming PC, so i am stuck playing console racers. Maybe by delaying GT5 Polyphony is getting their act together *fingers crossed* The sense of weight transfer needs to be improved, braking physics need to be dramatically improved, tire modeling physics need major improvement, low-speed physics, damage, the list goes on. They've really gotta start focusing on physics in the GT series. Plus, the cars have that "floating" problem just like all the previous GT games. Even with all assists off and street tires on the car. Man, play iRacing or even rFactor for a while, and then pop in Prologue and it just seems like an arcade game. These are still some of the problems with GT5 Prologue. You can just mash the brakes and gas with little or no consequences. ![]() ![]() Too much traction, unrealistic speeds/performance on most of the cars, no damage, terrible AI, and the biggest problem to me is that the cars just sort of float around. There's no way I would post this at a place like GTPlanet, because the GT fanboys would flame me out of there in a heartbeat, but GT4 is pretty weak as a sim. I'm not looking for your whole 100 point weighted rating scale. so in short how does GT4 rate as a sim racer? i have still never played any PC sims so i don't know how realistic this model is in comparison. sure it may not look as pretty as any of the newer games, but it does have tire wear, pit stops on longer races, and car customization and tuning. My question is how do you guys rate the physics and driving model in GT4? i know there is no damage, no penalties of any kind, no online, and the crash physics seem pretty lame. so i borrowed my brothers old PS2 and grabbed a used copy of GT4 from my local Gamestop for $8.99. so since GT5 isn't coming out for at least another 5-6 months i figured i'd try GT4 to pass the time. I had recently read that the G27 works with PS2 games such as GT4. Dirt 2 is a blast, works perfectly with the G27, paddles and all. NFS Shift works wells with the wheel, the paddles work and everything but the game just doesn't feel right. GT5p is good but with the G27 you are forced to use the 6 sp shifter, i'd rather just use the paddles. i'd been playing GT5p, NFS Shift, and Dirt 2. i had just recently got a G27 for PS3 gaming.
